| Day 1 | Home City - San Antonio, TX | | Upon arrival at the San Antonio airport, transfer to your hotel. Tonight, meet fellow travelers at a Get Acquainted Dinner. After dinner is your first Fiesta San Antonio event, also known as the “Party with a Purpose”. 2011 marks the 120th anniversary and all parade events are sponsored by local non-profit organizations and the funds raise support San Antonio agencies. More than 3 million people attend this 11-day celebration and tonight, it’s the Coronation of the Queen of the Order of the Alamo!(D) |
| Day 2 | San Antonio Sightseeing | | Our first stop will be at the IMAX movie, “The Price of Freedom”, which recreates the events leading up to the famous battle at the Alamo. Tour the Alamo Mission where Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie fought for Texas independence in 1836 followed by a visit to the Buckhorn Museum & Saloon. Then tour the Mission San Jose, established in 1720, considered to be the most beautiful and prosperous of all Texas missions. Later, ascend the Tower of the America’s for dinner with a view of the city from 750 feet up. Finish the evening with a leisurely riverboat tour along the riverwalk. (B,D) |
| Day 3 | Day Trip to New Braunfels and Austin | | Today is the most picturesque day of your trip. This is the perfect time of year to see wildflowers throughout the countryside. Enjoy a drive to Canyon Lake along River Road and Devil’s Backbone through the Hill Country en route to historic Wimberly, known for its unique shopping. Once in Austin, visit the Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) Library and the State Capitol, which boasts the tallest capitol dome in the nation, even taller than the US Capitol. Next, visit the Austin Wildflower Center where the blooms are breathtaking this time of year. Before returning to San Antonio, enjoy dinner at a popular local restaurant. (B,D) |
| Day 4 | Round Mountain - LBJ Ranch - Fredericksburg/Parade | | Begin today with a scenic drive to Round Mountain where the Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes are prolific, then a tour of the LBJ ranch prior to an included German lunch. This afternoon, enjoy a choice of activities, a tour of the renowned Admiral Nimitz Museum, dedicated to the 2 million men and women who served under Nimitz in the Pacific during World War II. Exhibits chronicle the Admiral’s life and career in the U.S. Navy. Enjoy free time to peruse the shops of this popular hill country resort town. Your Farewell Dinner tonight is at a popular steak house. End the evening with reserved seats at the Fiesta Flambeau parade, one of the largest illuminated parades in the nation and attracts about half a million street spectators. (B,L,D) |
| Day 5 | Gardens - Ft. Sam Houston - Home City | | This morning you’ll depart to Brackenridge Park, home of the Japanese Gardens. Next, take a tour of Ft. Sam Houston and the famous Quadrangle where Geronimo and his men were held. Then, depart for the airport and your return flights home. (B) |
