| Day 1 | Home City / Edmonton, AB | | Arrive in the friendly, cosmopolitan city of Edmonton. The rest of the day
is at leisure for you to explore the 8th Wonder of the World – West
Edmonton Mall – the world's largest shopping and entertainment centre |
| Day 2 | Edmonton / Jasper, AB | |
Travel west on the scenic Yellowhead Highway to the spectacular
uncrowded resort town of Jasper. En route you will pass through the
forested foothills of the Rockies Miette Range and Obed Summit, the
highest point on the Yellowhead Highway. Upon entering Jasper
National Park, a short ride brings you to the town of Jasper where you
will visit Maligne Canyon, Lac Beauvert, Pyramid and Patricia Lakes. Be
sure to bring your camera. There will also be some leisure time to shop
and explore Jasper's Main Street. |
| Day 3 | Jasper / Columbia Icefields, AB / Jasper | |
Today you depart on a ride down the awesome Icefields Parkway, an
endless succession of scenic wonders; rushing rivers, glacial peaks and
snow capped mountains. A stop is made at the dramatic Athabasca Falls
before arriving at the Columbia Icefields where you are treated to a
special snocoach ride across these ice fields, which are over 1000 feet
thick. Continuing down the parkway be sure to keep your eyes open for
bears, mountain goats, furry marmots and stately elk. Return to Jasper
for the evening. |
| Day 4 | Jasper / Edmonton, AB | | This morning enjoy a cruise on beautiful Maligne Lake to Spirit Island.
Also take a gentle hike down Maligne Canyon where you see how the
water has carved spectacular crevices out of the mountain. Say goodbye
to Jasper and travel east to Edmonton. Time permitting return to West
Edmonton Mall for your final Canadian purchases. |
| Day 5 | Edmonton, AB | |
This morning enjoy a fully narrated guided tour of Edmonton that
combines colorful anecdotes, humorous stories and well–researched
historical facts. Then take a short drive to the Provincial Museum of
Alberta, where we learn the story of Alberta's natural and human history
including: Aboriginal Peoples, Geology, Wildlife, Live Insects, Dinosaurs
and the Ice Age Mammals. This evening, whether you are looking for a
great time or just a little “horsing” around, you can't beat the speed and
excitement of live horse racing at Northlands – Spectrum. |
