Come with us on a journey to explore a world of Aboriginal traditions and natural wonders in the Rocky Mountains. Immerse yourself in the clean mountain air and the sensational panoramas that unfold before you on our guided walks and hiking trips. You may find yourself hiking in unspoiled mountainous terrain, trekking through an intricate maze of canyons, delving into the secret passages of a beautifully carved cave, or backpacking over a mountain pass; but above all ... you will find yourself removed from the pressure and demands of everyday life!
Whether your choice is to walk or hike in the provincial or national parks, we're ready to help make yours a trip to remember. Your guides will educate you about the animals in this area, allowing you to feel comfortable and better able to focus on enjoying yourself. Be prepared to spend quality time with us, we don't believe that there’s any need to hurry; we would rather focus on your experience.
Please keep in mind that our half-day adventures are truly a half day. We develop our programs for those who desire a quality trip, and therefore you should be prepared to spend at least four hours with your guide when joining a half-day trip.

Should you wish to engage us for an exclusive trip, for yourself or for a small group of family or friends, we would be delighted to lend our expertise to your experience. You may select from our existing hiking trips or you may want to create your own itinerary; either way, we will be pleased to assist you with our expert guiding services.
Half-Day Private Hikes: $400 + GST for the first four people and $75 + GST for each addition person; up to 8 people.
Full-Day Private Hikes: $600 + GST for the first four people and $75 + GST for each addition person; up to 8 people.
Select a specific activity from the following menus, or mix and match options to create your own unique adventure. For example, you may opt for one or two from an Adventure Menu mixed together with items chosen from the Bush Craft menu.
Your individual combination of activities can be presented as a half-day, full-day or multi-day package. Please keep in mind that the less time you have available, the more limited we will be in what we can offer, although we will always work with you to create an itinerary that best accommodates your interests and available time.
Imagine a getaway where you can learn the hands-on skills of our Native forefathers - fire lighting, shelter-building, crafting and rope making - while learning about the culture and gaining a deeper understanding of the Aboriginal people. And to heighten the experience, you spend the night sleeping in an old-fashioned trapper's tent surrounded by the whispering trees and soaring peaks of the Rocky Mountains.

Fire Lighting Learn both traditional and modern methods of fire lighting for different fire types, and the best way to build a fire to keep you warm. It's not what you think!

Shelter In both summer and winter (winter survival) we use shelter construction techniques employing trees and tarps. In winter we also use various snow shelters.

Medicines The plants in this area are plentiful and each one is unique in its ability to provide us with food and medicine. Come share some of the secrets that your guide learned from a Native Medicine Woman.

Signaling How do you attract attention when you really need it! As a small person in a big forest, if you signal an airplane, how will you know if they have seen you? We'll show you, but bring a note book, there's a lot to show!

Rope Making Need string or a rope but don't have it? We'll show you how to make it, and make it strong! These ropes and strings can have many uses and the technology is right in your hands!

Tool Making An amazing array of tools and their uses. From using a knife to cut wood, to making your own bush saw or back pack and so much more!

Traditional Navigation No compass or GPS? Learn how our forefathers used to navigate using a sun compass, sun stick and a few other useful tools.

Nature Ramble An easy short ramble, through interesting eco-systems, that allows time for looking at flowers, bird spotting and examining animal signs and water systems. And who knows what else we may discover?

Hike You explore pristine mountain scenery with your choice of easy, moderate or challenging terrain. For the more adventurous, we offer the highest hiking route in the Canadian Rockies!

Tracking Skills Learn the basics of tracking. Start by exploring your own tracks and then look for animal tracks and build on what you've already discovered.

Map, Compass and GPS The cost of Search and Rescue in the Rockies, not to mention the danger to human life, is often totally preventable. We offer a hands-on session on learning to read a map, using a compass and understanding and using GPS.

Canyon Walk Explore the pictographs of Grotto Canyon and hear the story, from a Native perspective, about why the pictographs are there, who might have left them, and more importantly who did not leave them!

Cave Adventures Explore a system of underground passages that have been etched and sculpted by glacier water over a period of thousands of years.

Canyon to Cave (full-day only) This is a full day exploring Grotto Canyon and Rat's Nest Cave. The caving takes you through an amazing cave system of passages etched and sculpted thousands of years ago by running glacier water.

Snowshoeing This historic Canadian form of traveling (using traditional equipment) takes you on a journey through pristine mountain scenery. The skills are easy to learn and the pace is relaxed.

Dog Sledding Dog Sledding is hands on! You will have the opportunity to put the dogs into their harnesses and attach them onto the sled. Then take an exhilarating ride on your sleds while enjoying the amazing scenery of the Rocky Mountains!
2-hours: $145 per person (based on 2 adults); Child 4-9 years: $80.00 with each adult fare; and under 4 is $30.
Single rate is $270.

Cross Country Skiing A lesson in the morning will help you to feel at ease before your guide takes you on a tour - at your pace - over easy terrain - to view some of the most stunning snow capped mountains in the world.

Night Walk Join your knowledgeable guide as you step out of your hotel and into a night time Winter Wonderland. In the city stars may be invisible however, as you join us to view the night sky, you will experience the stars as you never have before. Then listen and be entertained by Native Lore on Cosmology!
