Day 1-3: Arrive Christchurch Depart North America (flights not included)
Flying over the international dateline on your way to Australia, losing a day in transit. On arrival at Christchurch Airport you will be met and transferred
by private car to your hotel. Meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers this evening for a welcome reception.
Day 4: Christchurch - Twizel (BLD)
-You're invited' to discover an authentic taste of New Zealand country life at a barbecue lunch on Morelea Farm, a working sheep farm. You'll be welcomed
into the home of your hosts Angie and Stan Taylor and their 600 acre garden. Later see Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki, visit the Church of the Good Shepherd
and soak up the alpine scenery of Mount Cook National Park.
Day 5: Twizel - Dunedin (BD)
Start your day with a drive along the Waitaki River. View the Waitaki Hydro Power Scheme and Benmore Dam. Travel through Oamaru, with its famous white
limestone buildings, enroute to Dunedin for a tour of the city.
Day 6: Dunedin - Te Anau (BD)
Today choose one from a range of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. You have the option to tour Larnach Castle, ride the Taieri Gorge Railway
or take the Monarch Wildlife Cruise to see the Penguins and the Royal Albatross. Perhaps visit Cadbury World or Speight's Brewery. Later, travel
across rich fertile sheep-filled farming land to Te Anau, on the shores of Lake Te Anau, the South Island's largest lake.
Day 7: Te Anau - Queenstown (B)
You'll be awe-struck by the magnificence of the World Heritage Fiordland National Park. Amazing photo opportunities await you as you see rainforest,
ancient glaciers, mountain ranges and the hand-made Homer Tunnel. Pass the Mirror Lake, Pop's Lookout, Cleddau Valley and the Chasm. Your cruise
on mystical Milford Sound will take you past Bowen Falls and Mitre Peak. Afterwards, travel over the Devil's Staircase, along the shores of Lake
Wakatipu on your way to Queenstown. An orientation tour of New Zealand's adventure capital finishes this highlight day.
Day 8: Queenstown (BD)
Today choose one from a selection of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. You have the option to ride the Shotover Jet, join a wine tour, play
a round of golf or take a gondola to the Skyline Restaurant for dinner. Perhaps take a 4WD minibus through Skippers Canyon, relax with a spa treatment
at Millbrook Resort, go horse riding or explore Queenstown on a Segway. This evening cruise across Lake Wakatipu aboard New Zealand's oldest steamship,
the TSS Earnslaw, to Walter Peak Station for a gourmet barbecue -highlight dinner' at the Colonel's Homestead. An entertaining after-dinner farm
show provides a glimpse into high-country farm life.
Day 9: Queenstown - Franz Josef (BD)
Visit the historic gold mining village of Arrowtown on the Arrow River, previously one of the world's richest rivers. Enjoy the tastes of delicious
stone fruit at an orchard in Cromwell, the stone fruit capital. Later, see a trio of lakes, Dunstan, Hawea and Wanaka then travel over the Haast
Pass and view amazing Thunder Creek Falls and take a small rainforest walk. Then it's on to Franz Josef Glacier, the world's most accessible glacier.
Day 10: Franz Josef - Punakaiki (BD)
It's time for an exhilarating adventure among temperate rainforest giants on the West Coast Treetop Walkway. Then depart for Hokitika, home of the
native greenstone (jade), for a factory visit and jewellery demonstration. Later, travel to Punakaiki to view the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes.
Day 11: Punakaiki - Christchurch (BD)
Enjoy some free time before travelling via Greymouth to Arthur's Pass where you'll board the TranzAlpine train, one of the top six train journeys in
the world, to travel through the Southern Alps to your accommodation in Christchurch. Join your Tour Director and new-found friends this evening
for a farewell dinner.
Day 12: Depart Christchurch (B)
Your Vacation concludes this morning after breakfast. You'll be transferred to Christchurch Airport for your onward flight.
