Anderson Vacations team building
programs are unique, challenging, fun and keep
everyone involved. We can combine a selection
of activities to create one-half day or whole
day event. These activities can of course be extended
to incorporate as many one-half or whole days
as desired. And, we can divide your group into
any number of teams that will spend the day competing
in, enjoying, and learning from an assortment
of events and challenges.
Many of our activities can be completed in as
little as 15 minutes, making them perfect for
breakout sessions, though most of our exercises
are somewhat longer. Groups can often complete
3 - 4 of our individual events within an hour
to an hour and a half, and can comfortably complete
5 of our events within a three hour time frame.
All of our activities are easily adaptable to
group size and many can be conducted either indoors
or outdoors.
Pricing will vary depending on the number
of individuals participating in an event, on the
length of the event, and on the particular team
building event selected. Ask our expert event
planners for an exact price based on your group
and your specific choice of programs.
Here are other exciting ideas as to how to spend
one-half day with your team.
‘Real Cowboys’ build their
own chuck wagons!
This program revolves around a series of sessions
that will see the participants on each team charged
with the task of designing, building, and testing
a functional chuck wagon. Each team will have
an opportunity to PRESENT their chuck
wagon. This session will allow teams to illustrate
just how innovative they have been in combining
the resources provided, plus their natural talent
and creativity, to this focused, project based
scenario.
The result is an enjoyable, interactive and educational
experience that breaks down traditional organizational
barriers and allows team members to build on a
common identity while generating unique and entertaining
memories.
The following is an overview of this program’s
sessions:
– Setting The Pace: Introduction,
orientation and presentation of the challenge.
– Creating The Wagon Crew:
Breakdown of teams; appointment of sponsor, driver
and wagon manager. Distribution of the team chuck
wagon resource kits.
– Putting In The Laps:
Construction of the chuck wagons. All teams report
progress and any challenges during construction.
– Going For The Finish Line:
Team presentations and judging.
– The Winners Circle:
Judges announce team scores. Teams participate
in final “Time Trial” competition.
Top three teams must reveal their success stories
in order to receive their prizes.
– Dealing With The Competition:
“Winner Takes All” final team challenge!

SUMMER or WINTER, the OLYMPICS were never
like this!
See how you think your Olympic Team
would do in the following events:
Each
team must use the gold they have collected to
barter at the “general store” for
pots, pans, utensils and ingredients in order
to produce the best tasting Chili Con Carne. Teams
will have a set period of time in which to acquire
their resources and put together their chili creation.
After simmering over lunch, the judging panel
announce a gold medal winner.
Teams will line up for this progressive challenge
which sees the first participant from each team
start by attempting to rope a steer head affixed
to the top of a hay bale. When the rope falls
completely around the steer head and tightens,
the participant will then give the lasso to the
next contestant in line and move onto the second
part of the challenge, which is to toss a total
of 10 horseshoes into a bucket while blindfolded.
Having successfully completed the second portion
of the challenge, the participant will move on
and empty a squirt gun onto a burning fire in
an attempt to put it out.
Each team will be given a cloth bag with several
articles inside. By using only their sense of
touch, on the outside of the bag, the team must
attempt to correctly identify the articles in
the sack within a specified time limit. The second
part of this activity has each team emptying the
contents of the bag to try and identify the relationship
between the articles and an overall theme or message.
Teams
will be challenged to tie the most bandanas together
by their corners within a set timeframe. The only
hitch is that the bags of bandanas must be retrieved,
using only the resources supplied (rope, bungee
cord, gloves), from an area that is off limits.
Teams must erect a freestanding tee pee complete
with a decorated tarp using only the resources
supplied. This challenge is complete when all
team members are together inside the structure
and a team photo can be taken.
Potential Program Locations: Anywhere
with room to compete.
Time Period: 3 to 4 hours
Inclusions: All equipment, staff
and a “Cowboy Olympic” themed layout.
Group Size: Variable
Season: Year round.
