Anderson Vacations team building
programs are unique, challenging, fun and keep
everyone involved. We can combine a selection
of activities to create one-half day or whole
day event. These activities can of course be extended
to incorporate as many one-half or whole days
as desired. And, we can divide your group into
any number of teams that will spend the day competing
in, enjoying, and learning from an assortment
of events and challenges.
Many of our activities can be completed in as
little as 15 minutes, making them perfect for
breakout sessions, though most of our exercises
are somewhat longer. Groups can often complete
3 - 4 of our individual events within an hour
to an hour and a half, and can comfortably complete
5 of our events within a three hour time frame.
All of our activities are easily adaptable to
group size and many can be conducted either indoors
or outdoors.
Pricing will vary depending on the number
of individuals participating in an event, on the
length of the event, and on the particular team
building event selected. Ask our expert event
planners for an exact price based on your group
and your specific choice of programs.
Here is another exciting idea as to how to spend
one-half day with your team.
Take nothing but pictures… Leave nothing
but footprints… Waste nothing but time!
(The Cavers’ Motto)
Get your group together and join us in exploring
the mysterious subterranean world of caves –
a special world where few people venture.
Long ago this 4 kilometer long limestone cave
system was created by massive volumes of melt
water from extinct glaciers. Now the glacial
waters have receded leaving glacial deposits,
fossil animal bones, pools of sparkling clear
water and glistening calcite formations, all of
which you can view on our cave tours.
After assembling the caving gear, participants
head up to the cave on a rugged, mountain trail.
The hike is 20-25 minutes through pine forest
to the cave entrance. Here you change into
your caving equipment and will receive a safety
briefing. Your expert guide will take you
on a natural history tour of the cave, an exciting
underground world - etched and sculptured over
hundreds of thousands of years - through twisting
passages and chambers of stalactites and stalagmites,
then finally down to the tranquil pool in the
canyon.
At all levels, caving offers a natural team building
environment, as participants are required to assist
each other in unfamiliar situations. Caving
challenges one's comfort zone and requires the
team to develop a solid group chemistry in order
to overcome individual hesitations. If desired,
debriefing is available to discuss communication
skills, how strategies could be improved and integration
of learnings into the work environment.
The Explorer Tour is similar
to the adventure tour but does not include the
rappel or ‘Laundry Chute’.
This tour involves an 18 meter rappel on a "figure-of-eight"
rappelling device backed up by a safety line.
No experience is necessary as we provide all the
instructions. Participants will be climbing, crawling
and squeezing (through the ‘Laundry Chute’)
while inside the cave.
More formal team building programs, which allow
teams to self-navigate through the cave, are also
available. Each group member (4-8 per team) has
a role to play. Team leaders coordinate members
responsible for: navigation, reconnaissance, communication
and group wellbeing.
Program Location: Canmore.
Time Period: 4 - 6 hours.
Season: Year round (October
to April is best for groups).
Inclusions: Professional caving
guides, coveralls, kneepads, gloves, lights and
backpacks.
Group Size: Minimum 4 - Maximum
32
Caving can be moderately physically challenging,
however no experience is necessary for any of
our tours. Participants should be fit; anyone
who hikes, cycles, rafts, skis or snowshoes will
enjoy this unique experience.
We recommend warm, comfortable (non-bulky) clothing
(jeans/long pants, tee-shirt and fleece or ‘hoodie’).
You will also need good footwear hiking boots
are best but a trail/sturdy running shoe will
be fine. Do not expect to carry anything into
the cave. You will need to have both hands free
at all times.
We recommend either a compact digital or disposable
camera with flash for taking photos. Anything
you wear or take into the cave will get covered
in fine mud, so avoid new fancy clothing or camera
equipment. Please keep in mind there are no facilities
at the cave site - use the toilets in Canmore
prior to your caving adventure.

Remember to ask
the Anderson Vacations staff
to help you design and build the perfect program
for you. In the past we've developed programs
as varied as overnight road rally events, western
themed and sports themed game events, orienteering
courses, in fact, all of the programs listed above
were at one time unique events in their own right.
You can also combine a team building event with
a keynote presentation to build additional employee
value into your event. Or you can include guided
hikes, walks, snowshoe trips, slide presentations,
and sightseeing tours to create a complete Rocky
Mountain package.
Our competent, knowledgeable, and experienced
guides and facilitators are the foundation of
our programs. They come from many different backgrounds,
but choose to make the mountains their home because
of their love of nature and the outdoors. They
share a passion for the wilderness, wildlife and
history of the region and they are eager to share
that experience and knowledge with you!
